Awaiting them were the Prague Lions, eager to bounce back from a heavy 47-13 defeat in their opener and now led by former Paris Musketeers quarterback Jaylon Henderson.
At times inconsistent in the season opener, the Paris offense wasted no time delivering excitement to the home crowd this time around. Following a perfectly orchestrated opening drive by quarterback Zach Edwards, the Paris signal-caller found Hugo Tekedam at the back of the end zone for the game’s first touchdown (7-0). At that point, it seemed the Musketeers were on their way to an offensive showcase in front of their supporters.
But Prague had no intention of folding quietly. Following a clever flea flicker, Jaylon Henderson handed the ball off to William Patterson, who then launched a deep pass toward Matyas Bily. Usually dominant, the Paris defense was caught off guard on the play and could do nothing to prevent the touchdown (7-6).
The remainder of the first half became far more scrappy, with both offenses still searching for rhythm and confidence early in the season. Paris managed only a field goal to extend the lead (10-6), but Zach Edwards continued to keep the defense guessing with a balanced mix of passing and a punishing rushing attack. It was ultimately the Paris quarterback himself who gave his team breathing room. With just one minute remaining before halftime, Edwards powered into the end zone on a tush push touchdown to make it 17-6.
It comes as no surprise that the Paris Musketeers boast one of the strongest defenses in Europe, and they once again proved it during Week 2 of the 2026 EFA season. The defensive unit repeatedly pressured Jaylon Henderson and consistently came up with crucial stops.
Even when backed up inside their own five-yard line, the Paris defense stood tall. On three separate occasions, Prague was denied access to the end zone and forced to settle for field goals, unable to crack the Parisian wall.
Offensively, the Musketeers are still searching for consistency. But when everything clicks, they can be devastating. That was once again the case when Zach Edwards connected with Hugo Tekedam for the receiver’s second touchdown of the night and already his third of the season.
To put the finishing touches on the win, running back Jason Bofunda sliced through the entire Prague defense for another touchdown. For the first time this season, the Musketeers reached the 30-point mark while securing their second consecutive victory to open the 2026 campaign.
With this second straight win, the Paris Musketeers now sit atop the EFA standings alongside the Nordic Storm, who defeated the Tirol Raiders on their side. Paris will return to Bauer Stadium on June 6 for a highly anticipated matchup against the Munich Ravens.
