Week 6 Preview: The Musketeers Ready to Weather the Storm

After escaping the Tirol Raiders trap in dramatic fashion last week (24-17), the Paris Musketeers are about to face a challenge of a completely different magnitude. This Sunday, Jack Del Rio's squad travels to Scandinavia to take on the Nordic Storm, the only unbeaten franchise remaining in the EFA and widely regarded as the benchmark of European football in the early stages of the 2026 season.

For Paris, the stakes go far beyond the final score. A strong performance against the Nordic leaders would further validate the Musketeers' status among the continent's elite teams.

A strong start in the standings, but...

With three wins in four games, the Musketeers' European campaign has been difficult to criticize from a results standpoint. The Parisians notably earned an important victory against Frankfurt and remain firmly positioned near the top of the standings.

However, several questions remain behind these encouraging results. Most notably, the Paris offense has yet to reach full cruising speed. Averaging just 20.5 points per game, it still falls well short of the standards set by the league's most explosive teams.

The Musketeers continue to alternate between dominant stretches and frustrating inconsistencies. Their late-game comeback against the Raiders showcased their ability to raise their level when it matters most, but the struggles displayed against Munich a few weeks earlier served as a reminder that this team is still a work in progress.

If Paris hopes to pull off an upset this weekend, it will need to deliver its most complete performance of the season over all four quarters.

Reasons for optimism on both sides of the ball

Despite the remaining concerns, not everything needs fixing in Paris. The offensive line continues to provide stability and has emerged as one of the team's biggest strengths this season.

Another major positive is the outstanding form of Hugo Tekedam. Week after week, the receiver continues to prove his value within the Musketeers' offense, finding the end zone with remarkable consistency and confirming his growing importance to the team.

Defensively, Paris has also been impressive. The Musketeers have held opponents to 20 points or fewer in three of their four games this season. That statistic reflects the strength of a defensive unit that now faces its toughest challenge of the year against the Nordic Storm's explosive offense.

New Impact Additions?

As they do every week, the Paris Musketeers continue looking for ways to strengthen their roster and build the highest-quality squad possible, whether to improve the team’s overall level or to compensate for injuries. With that goal in mind, two notable additions deserve attention this week.

Following Austin Mitchell’s ankle injury, the Paris Musketeers decided to bring in a new American wide receiver. His name is certainly not unfamiliar to football fans around the world: Torin Justice. The dynamic American receiver has previously played in Europe with the Hamburg Sea Devils, but he truly made a name for himself in Mexico’s LFA, where he holds the league records for both receptions and receiving touchdowns. He represents another important weapon for the Musketeers’ offense.

On the defensive side of the ball, a familiar face is returning to Paris as Demarco Artis rejoins the team. Artis previously wore the Musketeers’ colors last season, and his return should provide even more stability and experience to an already talented Parisian defense.

Nordic Storm: A winning machine

Since the beginning of the 2026 campaign, the Nordic Storm has fully lived up to its preseason favorite status. Viewed before kickoff as the most complete team in the league, the Scandinavian franchise enters Week 6 with a perfect 4-0 record.

What truly stands out, however, are the numbers.

The Storm offense averages nearly 500 yards per game (499.3 to be exact), a figure well above that of its competitors. The team has also scored 22 touchdowns this season, including 16 through the air, demonstrating an ability to attack defenses from every angle.

The defense has been equally dominant. Allowing just 13.75 points per game, it ranks among the league's very best. Even more impressively, the Storm has stopped opponents on nearly 70 percent of their third-down attempts, highlighting its ability to take control of critical situations.

Rarely has a European team appeared so complete on both sides of the football.

Familiar faces and new discoveries

This matchup will be a first in the history of the two franchises, as the Paris Musketeers have never previously faced the Nordic Storm.

That said, several faces will be familiar. Jadrian Clark and Glen Toonga, two stars of the Rhein Fire's championship years, now serve as the driving forces behind the Storm offense. On defense, former Musketeer Maceo Beard is set to face his old team.

Paris fans will also get a closer look at one of the league's breakout stars: Brendan Beaulieu. The Storm receiver has already scored eight touchdowns this season and represents a constant threat to opposing defenses.

A true measuring stick for Paris

The Musketeers enter this road trip as underdogs. Few teams currently appear capable of defeating the Nordic Storm on its home field.

But that is precisely what makes this matchup so intriguing.

A Paris victory in Scandinavia would rank among the defining results of the European season and send a powerful message across the continent. More than just another win, it would confirm that the Musketeers have taken the next step and are now capable of competing with the very best teams in European football.

On Sunday, in the heart of the Nordic storm, Paris will discover exactly where it stands.
